For most people, the eye examination provides a prescription for us to see clearly – but that’s only a very small part of what optometrists do. We also check the health of the eye by measuring field of vision, pressures of the eyes and the health of back as well as front of the eye. This is especially important for people who have a family history of diabetes or glaucoma. At Dixon Optometrists we have a retinal camera that allows a closer, more detailed look insider the eye. The vast majority of our patient opt for this service because it’s so invaluable in monitoring any changes in the eye.
