Eye Examination

Step into our practice and you’ll experience first-class service you never knew existed.

Clinical consultations and eye examinations may feel routine at other opticians, but the high standard of care from our highly qualified team of optometrists will dazzle you.

You will get a feel for our premier standards the minute you arrive for your eye test. Consultation rooms are more suite than economy, all air-conditioned and sporting the latest in clinical technology. They’re spacious enough to accommodate a small family group if needs be, particularly valuable when small children or carers are involved. And we have toys and games as well – we have kids too!

Our dispensing room boasts the latest frames and sunglasses to suit all ages, stages, budgets and styles. You see, our patients say what they like, like what they see – so they tell us (and we like listening).

Your eyesight is a precious sense – so it is very important that you have regular eye examinations, at least every 2 years, whether you feel you need glasses or not. Any deterioration in your sight can be so gradual that it sometimes goes unnoticed. That is why regular eye examinations are so important.

For most people, the eye examination provides a prescription for us to see clearly-  but that’s only a very small part of what optometrists do. We also check the health of the eye by measuring field of vision, pressures of the eyes and the health of back as well as front of the eye. This is especially important for people who have a family history of diabetes or glaucoma. At Dixon Optometrists we have a retinal camera that allows a closer, more detailed look insider the eye. The vast majority of our patient opt for this service because it’s so invaluable in monitoring any changes in the eye.

According to the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) nine out of ten people fear losing their sight above any other sense but one in three still fails to have an eye test at least every two years! In addition, two million people in the UK are at risk of losing their sight.

At Dixon Optometrists, we can test the eyes of people of all ages and can assure you of a thorough eye examination. Call in or phone us to make an appointment today.
